How do you know if your sump pump is working properly, or if it needs repair?

To test your sump pump, follow these steps:

  1. Trace the two electrical cords of the sump pump. The pump cord plugs into the back of the float cord plug.
  2. Unplug both cables, then plug only the pump cord into the outlet.
  3. If you hear a humming sound when the pump turns on, it indicates the pump is working.

Common signs that your sump pump may need repairs or replacement include unusual noises, continuous running, or failure to activate. If you notice any of these issues, contact Bulldog Rooter immediately. Our team provides prompt and reliable sump pump maintenance services in Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho to keep your home safe and dry.
